Glimpse of Ayurveda:
Ayurveda, which translates to “Knowledge of Life and Longevity,” is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems to be discovered in India more than 3000 years ago.
This ancient science of healing is based on the belief that a delicate balance between the mind, body, and soul ensures good health and wellness. According to Ayurveda, everything in the Universe is composed of the following five elements called the Panchamahabhuta:
Air (Vayu)
Water (Jala)
Fire (Agni)
Earth (Bhumi)
Ether (Aakash)
Ayurveda recognizes the human body as a combination of these five essential elements existing in differing proportions, impacting the layers called Kosha, and thus making an individual unique.
These five elements are present and represented in humans in the form of Tridosha ( three kinds of energy), i.e., Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Vatta exhibit the properties of the elements Ether and Air, Kapha manifests the properties of Earth and Water, while the Pitta contains the features of Fire and Water.
The balance between these Tridosha defines the health and personality of an individual.
